Photographing weddings will always be my first love when it comes to shoot types. But boudoir photography is quickly becoming my second love! I can't tell you how many women I meet that tell me they "hate having their picture taken." It breaks my heart because they look at these snap-shots, these unprofessional portraits of themselves, and see all their insecurities magnified. Why is that?
Well, it's not the subject's fault, that's for sure. I once heard the epic Jennifer Rosenbaum say that "the camera doesn't add 10 pounds, the photographer does." And that couldn't be more true! Photographs take a three dimensional object (the subject) and turn them into a two dimensional object. And that alone can make a subject look wider. But so does the wrong lens choice, and incorrect posing, and camera positioning, and lighting choices. The list goes on and on! That's why every women needs to have a professional boudoir session, at least once in her life. They make amazing photographic gifts for lovers, BUT! They are also amazingly empowering and a wonderful gift to give yourself! Trust me, you're beautiful!
Here are some images of my most recent shoot. How stunning does Megan look in these!? And just think, she'll have these for life. Just like the older Rose in Titanic, she can show these to her great grand daughter and say "Look, wasn't I a dish!?" :D
